History
In 1986, H.F. “Taff” Lawton, Jr. opened his own tax and accounting office as a sole-practioner. That office would later become Main Street Accounting. In 2008 Bo Clark came to work with Main Street Accounting. After 6 years of working for Main Street Accounting, in 2014, Bo took over the firm and continued it’s progression. Serving numerous personal, business, farm and non-profit clients over the years has given us significant knowledge and experience to best serve our clients now and in the future. In 2019 Janet Regan came on board as the Accounting Supervisor and brought years of experience with larger firms to Main Street Accounting Service’s accounting, bookkeeping and payroll clients.

President
Mason “Bo” Clark, EA CTC
Mr. Clark brings significant real-life experience to Main Street Accounting Services. Having worked in various accounting functions for private employers, he brings an understanding of the back-office operations of a business. This helps him effectively work with our clients to maximize the usefulness of their accounting information. Bo has also worked in tax preparation for the last 16 years for both individuals and businesses.
Mr. Clark has a Bachelors in Leadership and Management, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Accounting, both from the University of Mary Washington. He passed all three parts of the Enrolled Agent's (EA) exam and received his official enrollment number from the IRS in 2011. In August of 2020 he earned his Certified Tax Coach (CTC) designation from the American Institute of Certified Tax Planners. This designation is focused on advanced tax planning techniques to provide more value and additional services to our tax clients.
Bo officially took over Main Street Accounting in January 2014. He will continue to work to improve the service, professionalism and expertise at Main Street Accounting over the coming years.

Hunter Clark
Keeping it in the family… Hunter is the son of current firm President Bo Clark, and Grandson of founder Taff Lawton. Hunter is a current college student, and high functioning Autistic young adult. He has strengths in both mathematics and attention to detail. This has made him a blessing to our operation in providing swift and accurate data entry for our accounting clients.
